Pastor Nancy M. Raabe

Pastor Raabe was called to Grace in May, 2021 and began serving in July. With degrees from Pomona College, Trinity Lutheran Seminary and Wartburg Theological Seminary, she and her husband Bill live in Hatfield with their dog Jack. They have two children, Margaret (Greg) Van Horn of Newtown Square,  PA, and Martin (Rebekah Engstrand) of Minneapolis, and two grandchildren. Pastor Raabe also serves as President of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.

Lynn began work at Grace in April, 2021 and supervises all aspects of the church’s daily operation. She prepares and edits the weekly bulletin and newsletter,  keeps our daily calendar, and makes sure everyone is on task and up to date.

Kevin has directed Grace’s music programs since September, 2019. Kevin served previously at Wayne Presbyterian Church in Wayne, PA, where he supervised a large and varied music program. He recently completed arrangements for Grace to purchase and install a new organ and supervised the addition of Hauptwerk capabilities.

2024 Congregation Council

 

Dave Kunkel, President: This is Dave’s second term as President. He is currently implementing a series of Standard Operating Procedures.

 

Tom Salter, Vice President: Tom has worn many hats at Grace over the years and now also serves as co-treasurer.

Cathy Farrell, Secretary: Cathy teaches yoga at Grace and is Board President of Sanctuary Village, an organization working to build tiny houses for people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. She is delighted to have joined Grace’s Council. She is liaison to the Giving in Service team.

Laura Kratz: Laura has been attending Grace for almost 70 years. She served as Synod Assembly representative last year and is a gifted artist. Laura is our liaison to Stepping Stones and serves on that board.

Crystal Tula: Crystal is new to Council and we are delighted to have her. A member at Grace with her family for five years and mom to three boys and two cats, she was formerly chair of INReach and is very involved in youth and scouting activities at Grace. Crystal loves living and working here in Hatfield. She is always on the go with basketball, soccer, band, orchestra and much more. She is liaison to the Communication team.

Don Capanear: Don has been a member of Grace for more than 25 years. He’s served on a number of committees including Council several times, Stewardship and Bridge Builders. He is liaison to Mutual Ministry.

 

Jeff KroutJeff has been a member at Grace since 2001; this is his second time serving on Council. Jeff enjoys woodworking and doing projects around the house, spending time with family and traveling. He is liaison to the Property team.

Barb Hess: Barb came to Grace not long ago and has made a big difference in our lives. She quickly joined Council not long after being welcomed into membership, is a regular communion assistant, and now serves as liaison to the Worship and Music team. She says to the Grace community, “Thank you for being so friendly to me as a new member!”

 

Wendy Walter: Wendy is new to Council and we welcome her expertise in many areas. She has been a member at Grace all her life. She enjoys sewing and crafts, and participates in the Stitchers of Grace. She is active on Altar Guild and in Giving to God (stewardship) and HEART teams, and also serves as Grace’s financial secretary. She is liaison to Giving to God.

 

Sue Wieland: Sue has been a member at Grace since 2013. She has two granddaughters and especially enjoys spending time with granddaughter Aubrey. “She is a great singer and enjoys music as much as I do!” Sue sings in our adult choir and is excited about learning to ring in our newly formed bell choir.
