Our old bell is now hanging in the newly erected bell tower. This happened on May 19, 2016. The steel studs that were signed by the congregation in April are now erected in the walls of the new building. On June 19, 2016 we packed up our administration space and sanctuary for a summer vacation; it was our last service in the current sanctuary before the start of renovations. Church services are being held this summer at the Lutheran Community in Telford so that renovations can be started prior to the new construction being completed. The office is temporarily located on the Wagner Property, the phone number and email address remain the same. The dry walling of the new construction is almost completed and work is finishing up on the Sprinkler and HVAC systems. Incoming utilities will be switched to the new construction in the near future. The exterior brickwork has been completed and the stucco work has started. The windows will be installed once the stucco layers are completed.
Renovation of the existing space is well under way with demolition of the walls in the existing administration space and removal of the bathroom fixtures and the new construction of a nursery wall has begun. Work continues in the sanctuary with the removal of the lighting fixtures and the verification of the location of the key steel support columns. The sanctuary carpeting was also removed in preparation for cuts in the concrete floor to support the new sound system wiring. The current construction goal is to have temporary occupancy in the new space by mid-August so that worship services can be moved back on site in the new Grace social hall on August 28.
The contract was signed with KDI as our technology vendor for the installation of the phone and network systems. We selected Grafton Electronic Design, LLC as the sound system vendor for the sanctuary.
