Each week, we read Scripture as part of our worship service. Grace follows the Revised Common Lectionary, a three year cycle of Scripture readings which many Christian churches use. You can find out the selections for the coming Sunday and learn more about the lectionary here.
Most weeks at worship, there is a lesson from the Old Testament, a psalm that is read or sung responsively, a New Testament lesson, and a Scripture from one of the four Gospels- Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Typically, the sermon will be based on one or more of these lessons. You will find a complete set of Bible verse attributions for our entire worship life here: Sources of Lutheran liturgy .
Please check the church calendar for the weeks that Bible or Book studies are offered.
Daily Discipleship and Daily Faith Practices are online downloadable Bible studies based on the lectionary used at Sunday worship. Daily Discipleship is based on the Gospel Lesson and Daily Faith Practices is based on the Second Lesson. More information can be found here, on the ELCA website.
Women of the ELCA (WELCA) meet the first Wednesday of each month from September through May at 10 a.m. Their meeting sometimes includes a Bible Study and usually a special project and breaking of bread together.
We welcome your participation and ideas to grow in the study of Holy Scripture.
